So, I've recently repaired two recent D series samsung televisions. The first was a UN55D6450, a TV I am ambivalent about due to it's severe flashlighting. The second is the rather nice (but rather loudly buzzing) PN59D7000, which I am keeping.
I have it in my AV room where my projector is. My cable box will automatically switch outputs to send to whatever display is active. In the past that was HDMI to my receiver/pj, and component to my Sony CRT. I wanted to replicate that set up with this plasma.
I bought a samsung breakaway cable, that works with this TV, but get no image from the 3 tested sources (cable box, PS3, BR player) on both Samsung TVs. I occasionally get a very scrambled image, and intermittent sound, and the best I could get was with a regular composite cable, but it was very degraded and full of strange artifacts.
The seller immediately sent me another, but I'm getting the same outcome.
I've done continuity tests and get the following results:
The red, green, and blue lines are indicating continuity from the inner female parts of the plugs, while the hot pink is indicating continuity from all three sheaths to the second section of the pole. Same with audio, except the yellow line is the sheath continuity.
Does anyone have an OEM samsung plug that came with the TV that can replicate this for me? Or is there a setting somewhere I don't know about?
