Hello all!
I just took a chance and picked up a Samsung plasma TV for $25 to try and fix. Here is a summary of what I know so far:
1)Plugging in the TV a here a few clicks of what I assume is a relay, but the TV does not power on.
VS = 0V
Va = 0V
VSC = 0V
2) Disconnecting the X board from the Y board allows the TV to go to standby mode with a red light in the front. When I press the power button the set powers on with the usual power on tune.
VS = 200V and slowly bleeds off to 0V
Va = 57V and slowly bleeds off to 0V
VSC = -185V and slowly bleeds of to 0V
3) Disconnecting the X and Y boards at the same time has the same results as the step above.
4) Disconnecting only the Y buffer has no effect and the TV does the same clicking and will not power on.
At this point I am thinking that the X main is bad, but I would like some advice before I invest any more money into this thing. Is there a way to make sure the panel is not bad before I spend any more time on this thing?
Here are some photos. The X Main board is missing because I removed it earlier and didn't want to stick it back in just for a picture. Let me know if there are any more pictures you would like to see.
Thanks in advance!
Matt
