Hello

After watching a lot of tutorials and troubleshooting my samsung, it appears that I need to engage with human life on this one.
I got the flashing red light, with the power cap click. I have tried running the tv without either of the sustain boards, and still had no luck.
This is after checking for bulges and venting in all capacitors.
I then metered the power supply that was up to snuff on all distributions.
Need some help yal

There was 2 caps on the power supply that I thought were suspect. But after I metered the board, I assumed that since all distribution areas were at the correct dc to specs, that the caps must have been ok?

I'm assuming the lvds cable runs to the hdmi connection board?
Some reason I'm having trouble uploading photo from my s3?

Yes, that's the LVDS cable. Runs between control and main board (main board has video inputs on it, like HDMI.)

All white screen, then green, then it turns itself off. Then back on.:-)

I would say after we fix his TV you can add another Samsung Plasma TV to your resume.

I did notice that the hdmi cables where pushing up against the wall kinda hard, prolley flexing the main board. I had the tv wall mounted and tipped down, to much now that I think about it. :-(

It continues to cycle the 2 colors then off n back on.

It would appear that your main board is the only fault, a common problem with these models. If you have brief test patterns, and they look OK, then it is the main board (="HDMI board") that is bad.

Sounds like toms saying buy a new main board.
Man I was.hoping to swap out some parts. :'(

sorry everybody for not being specific, my TV is a PN58a550. I was able to reference the information given by tom to diagnose the problem. so please make sure when you're hanging your TVs on the wall not to let the HDMI cables push on the wall.or any cables for that matter:-)

The main board is a common fault on these TVs anyway, no matter how the HDMIs go.

Hi, I actually have this same TV PN58A550 and just had a power board issue where a thermistor blew. Tom, you say the main board is a common problem. Do you know of any other common issues with this model?

B550 != A550.
Main board is 90% fault with this model. A few other rare faults, sustain boards can go too particularly the Y-main.

Hello everyone.!
I had a bit of time trying to locate the main board I needed to fix my Samsung plasma pn58a550s1f.
I do apologize for not starting out with my model # in my post title. I'm a space cadet.

After dead ends and purchasing a mainboard that never came that turned into a refund aftrr I called them 3 weeks+ later... I found that u should always talk to a customer service rep. Personally, or atleast have them physically check there part stocks via email so u don't wind up like I did. Fortunately I found a main board replacement (after following tom66 's troubleshooting blogs that he posted) @tvserviceparts.com .
They had an equivalent board an my tv is up and running.
