Hi Folks -
first of all - i am from germany - and my english ist not as well as my german ... so please be patient ...
try to save an "old" Toshi LCD TV 32WLG66 which does not work the way he should do.
whats up with it:
- Power on
- TV starts (relaise close on PSU)
- after 2-3 sec black screen turns on to noise-screen
- after another 4-5 sec screen goes black (backlight off)
- after another 3-5 seconds main relais @ psu disconnect and tv is OFF
thats just happen when i press the power button.
something curious is also happen when i press the power button -
and after the screen lights up - press the volume up or down ...
or the channel up or channel down button
(that iniate some kind of input trigger for "something")...
the toshiba stays on - as long as i press one of those buttons ...
if i left all alone again ... 4 seconds on - 4 seconds without backlight - and than off again.
thats what i could say about it and what i found out wihtout any tools.
well by using a screwdriver - i got a look inside the "machine" ....
unremarkable ...
so i start looking in the WWW for similar faults on such a TV
- nothing found - only one TV @ ebay for sale with the same problem.
so i thought by changing the board which is connected to the IR-reciever respective the buttons @ the TV panel would help.
Toshiba Signal Board PE0081 HDMI - found @ ebay
- *click* -bought
- *click* paid
- recieve - mounted - and ---- nothing - same problem.
so i talked to a friend - he told me that he had some similar
problem with an other brand (not sure samsung? doesn't matter)
- and in his case the inverterbooard was the couse.
so - i ordered a new inverterboard - but .... yes - the problem was NOT solved...
all things are the same ... TV on - do noting .... 5 seconds + 5 seconds = off
press and hold a key on the remote or the panel ....
stays on as long as i hold my finger on it.
i still think it is a small problem - which can be repaired.
a technician @ toshiba told me something about the i2c bus ...
and that some kind of signal iss missing - or one signal is disturbing the permantly control of the system ...
but that was on the phone - so it is a bit like the "christal-ball-voodoo" wihtout any measur ....
so i found the badcaps.net ... and i hope you have any ideas what i can also do to fix this nice and fine TV...
thx and best regards from Germany / Hamburg
