    Samsung LN52A580P6F

I bought this TV from a guy on craigslist for 75 dollars. The TV was having the vertical line issue on the right side of the screen, so I opened up the back and moved the ribbons on the T-con a little and the lines went away. A couple weeks later, a black line came up on the right side of the screen. Again, I open up the back, mess with the ribbons, but the line would not go away. So I unplugged the ribbons and put them back in, and the screen went black even when plugging the ribbons back in. I purchased a new T-con and no luck. I believe it is the ribbons that are the problem but I'm not completely sure. When I turn the TV on the backlight still works and I can mess with the ribbons a little and some color comes back but it does not stay. The sound also works too. Please help me out, I am too emotionally attached to say goodbye. Ha ha.
    Thanks.

Uh oh. Did you mess with the ribbons while the tv was on? If so at.best you may have damaged the output driver on the mainboard. But also you could have a bad tab bonding issue on the panel
Did I leave the soldering iron on?

Oh crap. I did. I watched a youtube video to fix the issue, and the yguy had his TV on. I'm sure he's screwed like I am too now. Hahaha! Would I have to buy a new output driver or a new mainboard? And how much would it cost?

well that depends on how much you want to sink into this TV. Messing with the ribbon cables for the TV is on can do some damage to the panel also. But if you want to try a main board since you already have a new tcon and you have the money to do so go ahead but usually black lines after moving things around makes me think that it is a panel issue.

Do you know what the panel is called specifically?

Panel = LCD screen. Uneconomical to repair.
This model has lots of tab bond issues, how about a pic of the issue so we can rule that in or out? Budm has fixed two previous 52" SAMSUNG LCD panels (one in a Samsung, one in a Sony.)
Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Silly me. I don't believe it could be the panel. I saw budm's post. I think I will take mine apart and check out the tabs, and order some thermal interface material to put over the tabs. Will post pics in a bit.
