Hi everyone, my first post
Ok, I have a samsung ln32d450 that i'm working on for my daughter, it has a shorted upper ccfl that took out the power supply. I repaired the power supply, (a couple mosfets and a few smd resistors, zeners, etc.), but still have the bad ccfl. I want to replace all 4 tubes, so I don't have to dig through this thing again next month, that said, I've been trying to find the part #'s for the tubes. I've found the # labeled on the tube as 'B189W' which I haven't been able to cross anywhere in my normal haunts, ie, digikey, mouser, etc. , I've even tried ccflwarehouse with no luck. I ordered the service manual and it has no schematics or IPL in it. When I found the IPL and schematics missing I called Samsung, but got no where. As I understand it, Samsung own's the rights to 'U' or 'C' style tubes, not sure how that works? Anyway, has anyone had any luck getting tubes from Samsung or know of another source? They are 4mm x 722mm x 41mm(ID) x 49mm(OD) 'U'-style tubes. I've thought about a LED conversion, however, I think they are all for the 22" and smaller screens. I welcome your thoughts.
