Hi I have a sanyo dp42740 42 inch flat panel that was hit by lighting
It has a dim screen but no lites to tell if its on or off there's a green
Led lite on inside of tv any help would be appreciated thanks

Dim light -- in a dark room, you can see glow from the screen?

Yes no lite to tell you if it's on or off

But you CAN see a slight glow emitted from the plasma panel?

OK good. The most common fault on this model I believe is the main board.

Select your service manual, check chassis for exact match:

Main board is the one with the video inputs on it.

If your set is like mine was, chassis -01, if I remember correctly, it has two mains, a digital and an analog. With that said, I don't remember my panel lighting when my main board was bad.

If you have a different chassis, do a google search for "Sanyo DP42740 Won't Turn on Fix" There is a YouTube video. Maybe it will help you. I'm at work so I can't get the link.

Please keep us posted and report back when you find a fix. There are too many threads on here that end with no word on a fix. It can be frustrating to read through a thread only to see that it ended with no confirmation.

Got new board installed now have a screen that says store mode
Channel up home mode channel down can't get it to do anything

Found problem didn't have all connections hooked up working
Perfect after replacing digital board thanks to the help everyone
This place rocks

Is there anyway to isolate the board on the set.
