Toshiba rear projection tv trouble

I have a Toshiba "Cinema series" model #tn61x81. I have a black band along the bottom of the screen. It runs about 8" up from the bottom of the screen, sometimes moving up higher. I used to be able to tap on the side of the tv and it would go away for a couple of hours, only to return. Can anyone tell me what this could be and what parts I will need to fix this. Also, I have tried to get a service manual for this tv with no luck. If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it.

Try hitting the side of the tv. That might help

Try turning the tv on and off quickly. This may help
