Hello World
OK, I have been given a PS-50C96HD and rather than taking it to the recycling centre I'd love to fix and use it!
Here's what I know and have tried so far:
When powering on, the light on the front of the unit lights up.
There is the clicking noise which repeats as the unit cycles through attempting to power up.
After disconnecting the three power cables from the main board, the clicking stopped.
The power cables were connected one by one and the unit had no clicking again until the last cable, the one to the Y-MAIN board, was connected.
I have visually checked the capacitors and looked for any burnt out chips or resistors and can't see anything faulty and there is no burnt smell.
I do have a digital multimeter and soldering skills but I do not have an oscilloscope.
I do have a great deal of patience and am willing to try any and every thing you are kind enough to suggest!
I'll put pictures on here of anything I can think of as useful but do let me know if you want any more pictures or indeed video or anything else I can do to aid you in helping me.
Many Thanks for all of your help in advance.
Paul.
