:Hi Everyone this is my first time here so appologies if Im posting in wrong section.
After a recent power cut our Toshiba RD 88DT DVD Hard drive recorder will play DVDs and previously recorded programs from the HD. But the clock remains -- -- and we are unable to set the time or set up the timer. The auto and manual tune functions wont work and so we are un able to record anything new. Having explored the menues and various procedures from the manual...no joy. I did notice however that from one menue ther was an "About" option, on entering this it had a place for a softwre version but this was blank ie: _ _ _ _. Should there be a software version number here and if so is it feasable that a power cut then subsequent re powering have corupted the software. It is probable that the unit was acctualy switched on at the time of the power cut and not on standby. If all this sound likley how easy is it to get software re loaded.
Thanks for any sugestions
David
