    iSymphony LC37IF80 no video

This HDTV is 13 months old and during the summer temperature when the room got 86 F, the video went out and I smelled it burn a capacitor. The audio and remote still works but the screen was black.

I opened it up, six screws to remove the stand, four on the top rear cover, four on the bottom, three on each side, and three on the connector plate.
One wire connector unplugs from the control switches.

Six screws hold the power supply LK-PI400106A to the chassis, five cables unplug from it, and two plastic standoffs hold a plastic shield to the solder side of the circuit board.

Capacitor C43 was burned which is a ceramic 6kv 39pF which is for the LED power voltage. C44 was good and is also a 6kv 39 pf. Both C43 and C44 are wired in parallel on the circuit board. The capacitors for the other side of the LED power voltage are C 41 and C42, also 6kv 39pF. C34 and C36 are 6kv 10 pF which are next to them.

I removed C43 and C44 to measure them on a LCR meter. C44 was 42 pF with greater than a M ohm. C34 was 6K ohm.

Neither Mouser or Digikey had 6kv 39pF but they had 6kv 33pF and 12pF. I soldered a 12pF to a 33pF and installed that in C44. I put a 33pF in C43 so the three capacitors together are the same as the original two 39 pF together of 78pF. I probably could of just put a 33pF in C43 and put the original C44 back in. The capacitors are 46 cents each.

Put it all back together and it's working fine.
