It looks like a Z-sustain or control board issue.

Can you get closer, in focus (not blurry) pics of these?

You may need to remove the boards and use daylight. Works best. If you can get a good picture without removing them try that first.

It's really difficult to see anything on the screen with the camera shake.

I assume you have a DMM (digital multimeter?)

I've highlighted some regulators with a red dot. Using a DMM can you check each pin of the regulators including the fat "tab" pin at the top. Check on 20V DC, with black probe in frame of TV, and with TV switched ON. For each device report pin voltage and device part number (e.g. APS1117-25.)

I've also circled two devices, can you read off their part # please?

I think your regulators are okay. (All measurements are good.)

Were you given the TV with this fault, or have you owned the TV and it went wrong? Did it go wrong slowly (occasionally getting stuck with screen like shown, or after a few minutes going bad), or did it go wrong suddenly?

It sure looks like a control board issue. But I cannot rule out bad buffer boards. The lowest price I can find the control at is $80. http://www.usefulparts.com/index.php...roducts_id=479 Very steep price.

                  That's assuming it's a voltage regulator...

It looks to me more like a power transistor than a regulator. I can't be certain.

how about the horizontal lines? there are always there, black, not moving (even the image change). Is the plasma panel defective also

It seems like both x-sus and y-sus are broken, but I'm no expert, tom66 is

Lines from left to right are okay, top to bottom CAN mean buffer but not always as a control board can cause both to go wrong. Do you have a part # for the buffers (left hand side of screen with the little black heatsinks on them.)

Clarification on my previous post. Top to bottom can mean PANEL, but could be a control board issue. Your pics are of the Y-sus; the buffers connect to it thru the plasma panel.
