    samsung ps50a476p1dxxu fault need help

    hi i have a 50inch plasma and they aper to be a fualt with the picture its very hazey tryed everything from adjusting from the board on the back but no different they is also red lines in the black im lost at what to do now any help would be grate

    Z-sustain/X-main probably... seen it on the C450 series.

      hi thank you thou your prompt repley is this an expensive fix and is they anything i can do to make it more watchable in the mean wile

        First question, depends on what you define expensive as, probably around £60. If you are handy with a soldering iron and a multimeter, you can sometimes do component level repair - so around £10.

        Second question, no unfortunately not, as the Z-sustain's job is to drive the plasma panel - in conjunction with the Y-sustain. Without it the plasma doesn't discharge properly and you don't get a proper picture. On some LG sets you can get away with a dim, grey/purple picture, but it's not much to watch. It is responsible for sustain (lighting the panel), as well as the some of the erase and reset waveforms.
