Samsung T220HD touch sensitive power switch modifications?

Hello. I have a Samsung t220HD I bought for repair, wouldn't power on part of the time said the seller. I opened it up, bulged/blown caps, recapped it with quality caps, still nothing. The power supply is putting out voltages now whereas before it had nothing.

Voltages to the output cable are now within spec with what is silkscreened on the board.

I suspect the crappy touch-sensitive power switch on the front. I have no remote control (or universal remote for that matter) with this unit so it makes it harder to test my theory.

Has anyone had experience with these Samsung touch sensitive switches or maybe have some suggestions on a workaround? Can I just jump some pins to simulate tripping the switch? Can I replace it with a standard type switch maybe?

Thoughts anyone?

Did you replace the starter capacitor? Should be a small 22-47uF by the main transformer...
Anything happen when you connect the green (power on wire) to the ground?

hi, i have the same MONITOR/TV T220HD that does not goes ON. When plugging POWER led blinks 5 times then stay on (red color)
i checked voltages on power supply connector cn1001 if 13v and 5v out are ok(sometimes i noted that 13v does 13/15v), and all seems to be a problem of main board.
Now, to have a confirmation i thought to connect LAMPS and POWER SUPPLY only and simulate the switch connecting ON/OFF pin to GND. (is this right?)
no light at all (i was expecting that lcd panel goes on all white)
can someone give me suggestions? i have all disassembled and can do measures.
also, i downloaded service manual for t220hd but main board schematics seems to be quite different from the one i have. if needed i can upload all.
