    COF Demux?

Looking at a Samsung Ln5255a with the vertical pinstriping on the one side of the screen. It's not the tcon, replaced it. (hooray for me finding a cheap tcon!)

So the problem is inside the panel. I googled more and got this:

One of the COF flex or COF demux is broken. The circuit is inside of the LCD panel. Dismantling the LCD panel, by removing the metal shields. Try to touch or moving the flex a little. Be careful! The back light is working with 2kV. It's easy to destroy the good COF cables during the dismantling. The COF demux is wary ESD sensitive. Protect yourself and the work area from ESD!

My question to anyone knowledgeable with these, is there any online reference for this part of the TV, maybe photos, or perhaps any advice before I try fiddling with this section?

    Re: COF Demux?

Unfortunately that sounds like a problem with the LCD itself, specifically the connectors bonding to the glass panel. It can sometimes be repaired - there are mixed results - but if it can't it's not economical to replace the LCD as a new one is very expensive. The connectors run along the side of the LCD panel. The panel is usually encased in metal and you will need to remove this to get access to the connectors.
