Re: toshiba regza problems
I'm going to need 3 pictures. I would like them to be at least 1000 x 1000 pixels; the site has a 2000 pixel limit, so don't go over that. It also helps if you can do this without flash.
The first picture is a little less critical - I need a picture of the back of the TV, showing where the cables go. The next two are more important. The first should be of the top of the power supply, but no flash, please. The second should be of the bottom; again, no flash. If there are any indications of the functions of the pins on the cables, it would REALLY help if that information is readable.

Not good enough. Bluntly, this is the sort of thing that makes me want to go play 'Angry Birds', cut down a tree, or download porn.

Re: toshiba regza problems
Ouch!!!! What happened to the lower left corner of that board? That circuitry should control the main supply.
The 8 pin connector in the upper left area of the board appears to be P806. Pins 1, 2, and 3 are control signals. What does it say about those pins on the top of the board?

Re: toshiba regza problems
With the TV on and off? (I'm not a mind reader.)
A wee bit of information. This TV has a dual power supply. The standby supply is on whenever the TV is plugged in. The output of the standby supply powers a small part of the main board which 'looks' for signals from the remote - such as the power button being pressed.
When the power button is pressed on either the remote or the front pane of the TV, the main board sends a signal to the power supply, turning on the main supply. The joker is the 'power control' signal varies from manufacturer to manufacturer and from model to model. USUALLY it's called PS_ON; and if it's at 3.25 volts, the main board is turning the main power supply on. One set I was working on recently called it 'Standby', and when it was high, it turned the main supply off. These jokers call it 'Power_Sig'.
The idea is, if it changes every time you press the power button, but the power supply never comes up, it's a power supply problem. If it never changes, it's a main board problem.
Just to make things more interesting, about midway between the 6 pin connecotr and the transformer labeled TDK X 0729 is a short reddish brown cylinder. That is a fuse. Check it. Look for other fuses and check them.
