Right side of screen is blue - Viewsonic VA1912wb

    Hello!

I have this Viewsonic LCD monitor model VA1912wb; my problem is that it starts up with the right side full of blue pixels. I opened it up and one of the things I did was to disconnect and re-connect one of the small ribbon cables inside, this seems to fix the problem but only for an hour or so, after that, the blue pixels start creeping in again. I thought that maybe the problem only happened when the unit got hot, but the blue pixels show up even when the unit has been turned off and/or disconnected for days, they only go away briefly after doing the ribbon thing.

The caps "look" OK, everything looks clean, no funny smells or anything. I really like this monitor and I hope I can save it with your help.

Any tips and suggestions on what may be causing this will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks a bunch!

    Oh, Faraday, grant me patience.

This is almost certainly a problem with the panel card or the cables linking it to the glass LCD panel. A few more pictures of the back of the TV (and a few less showing the problem) would have been useful.
