Hi there,
on Saturday my LG stopped working, showing some strange color distortion on the screen, then switched off after some tries of restarting. I guess it went to "protection" mode?
Before I start all the great helpful tips so far from eg freak and diah in the different posts, maybe somone can just tell me shortly if this looks like a broken panel?
If yes, no need to invest any money or time by trying to make it run again.
The TV 7.5 years old, running time maximum 5000 hours

its early to judge on the Module, at yours Photo i can see the letter V of Live TV showing white over the Red distortion Image of channel ZDF
you need:
1- send in_stop command follow with code 0413 to make hard reset for whole TV. if the issue remain then
2- run the T-CON and panel as stand alone.. if it display clear pattern color pages... then the isue on main boards... if the issue remain or it showing in different ways... show us here yours result. to go further

Hi diah, thanks for your tips. I managed to start the TV via power only but 24V on T-Con removed. If I start with 24V connected I get the following picture (attached). Sorry for the bad quality, but tv switch’s off after a few seconds. If w/o 24V MB seems to work. Attached mouse and SP/DIF illuminated. If I press In_stop nothing happens, also followed by blind 0413 key input. LG sign stays on.

It's the same pattern as before, can't see the rest because of the reflection.

So this confirms it is the panel or the t-con, but I have no idea which one, the tv shuts down because it senses overcurrent in the panel, as if it was damaged.

in order to use IN_STOP command , you need to turn on the tv normal on.... not power only after you disconnect 24V line.
power only state ,TV will be at limited function

second time you need to run test T-CON & Panel as stand alone.... to be sure if broken or not.

I just want to give a short feedback - did the panel test as suggested and unfortunately it was the troublemaker Thanks to everybody for the tips and suggestions!!!
