IC9 doesn't look like an opto-coupler but a mosfet. Are you able to see the numbers on it or shall I disassemble my printer? Mine is MIP3E3S (see initial photos from the post).

Yes, I can just work out the code MIP3E3S,
Does this need coding or do I just get a replacement and solder it in?

Sorry I am a complete novice, we changed the large film cap after working out what it was. and its still lifeless

Yes. I would get a replacement and I would change it along with the close capacitors next to it.
