Hope this is the right place to post this, as the box is a TV/Video Source but the question is about its power supply.
Anyway, I'm looking for some advice on selecting replacement capacitors for a Thomson DSI8215 Sky+ HD receiver. These are notorious for capacitor failure.
The original caps are mostly CapXon, with the large 400v 100uf cap sometimes TEAPO.
Reading around the net, the consensus recommendation seems to be low ESR, high ripple Panasonic caps, so I was looking at the FC or FM series.
The one I'm most unsure about is the large 400v 100uf cap (C14).
The TEAPO cap is marked: TEAPO 100uF 400v SH105°C 09/05 A3
and the equivalent CapXon is marked: CapXon 100uF 400v KM105°C C616 VENT
Sizes: Diameter: 18mm, height: 32mm
I'll probably be buying them from RS in the UK.
Does anyone have any recommendations or suggestions about what to look out for?
Thanks
