    Hp Elitebook 1040 G4 DA0Y0GMBAC0 REV:C

    Hi,
    I need the bios file for hp Elitebook 1040 G4 DA0Y0GMBAC0 REV:C.
The original bios file was corrupted and I couldn't make a copy of it. I found this thread https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...tebook+1040+G4 on badkaps and downloaded the bios file from this link
    https://www.badcaps.net/forum/attach...5&d=1518307955
Unfortunately, this didn't work on my laptop and now I'm stuck at the black screen of death.
Can anyone help me in this regard plz...?

    Best regards

      Any alternative fixes..?

          Re: Hp Elitebook 1040 G4 DA0Y0GMBAC0 REV:C

It was working fine. I hibernated the pc as usual and right afterwards, the power button started blinking. I unplugged the battery and tried it again but no display. I tried to unplug the battery and replug again but after that, the caps lock started blinking, and fans are boosting but the screen is black. Nothing appears on the screen.
I tried to make a copy of the original bios file but I was unable to read it. It was giving a read error message. So I just overwrite it with the file attached in the other thread. I'm still stuck at the black screen and the error message still flashing on the keyboard. Now I'm looking for the original file if anyone have it. Please post the original bios file.
PS:. The capslock button blinks five times which is a general system error.

What model is your programmer and the software version .You managed to overwrite it,so i`m just trying to figure out why it wouldn`t read.Do you have a CH341A ? .Your problem might not even be due to a corrupt bios.

There`s 2 different bios versions for the 1040 G4, P74 and P96 ,the bios you tried is P96 ,and the ME firmware is initialised, which means its already been booted on another machine and the ME firmware needs cleaning. What you need to try,as you havn`t got a backup, is both a P74 and P96 with clean ME firmware .

Edit: Are you sure the motherboard part number is DA0Y0GMBAC0. Whats the serial number

Yes, the part number is correct. Unfortunately no other information are available on the back of the laptop. The RT809F bios programmer was used.
How do I try both P74 and P96 with a clean firmware?
              Best regards
