Hi, had flash interrupted about halfway, have not made backup dump yet as i am about to order a ch431a programmer, only thing working is flashing orange charging light. any help would be appreciated.

Post your bios dump when you have it .

You can use some alternative software with the CH341A

Thanks for the help, should have the ch341a programmer next week, would you have these files, i am just wondering if the usb crisis recovery method might work:

startup.nsh – EFI folder – BIOS.cap – PFlash.efi – CrisisRecovery.efi – BIOS image file

Here is my bios dump, not sure if its the right one, because bios number on chip is different than one i used to read with flashrom software, this is the bios number i used MX25L6405 and this is the number on bios chip mx25l6473f, also flashrom shows that number as one of the 9 numbers that showed up when reading the bios chip but says error when trying to backup the bios chip.

Sorry I was a little premature with my first post, I tried all 9 numbers for dump and a second number produced a dump also, this is the second number MX25L6405D.

Both files are identical, so you are on the right track. I got the Bios from acer update, but it has a .fd extension, I don't know how to extract, but will find out.

Try this one, I hope the DMI and winkeys are all right. Cleaned ME region and used bios region from the .fd extracted from acer update.

I cant believe i finally got my laptop working again, thanks a million Mazorca for the bios file, going to have a beer and celebrate.

Could somebody who restored corrupted bios on Acer Spin5 SP513-52N tell what name of the bios file on USB drive should be? Is it bios.bin, bios.rom, or something else?

And what USB file system is acceptable? FAT or FAT32?

I have tried to use this file name for the bios file. It did not help unfortunately.
