Hi, guys!
I'm a noob so have patience, please!
I've been trying to remove the password from my Elitebook 8470p.
I've followed several tutorials, either from here or from elsewhere mentioned here.
Long story short:
after some long hours trying to read the flash chip with a Beaglebone Black, I finally succeeded!
Setup:
-Beaglebone Black (rev. A5C) with wifi dongle, monitor & keyboard;
-desktop PSU;
-SOIC16 clip;
-latest Debian 2Gb image (9.5, I think);
-Flashrom.
The chip is a Winbond W25Q128BV (SOIC16).
I tried to flash a "clean" file that I found on another thread but I guess the write protection on the chip didn't allow it because I left the BBB programming it overnight without any success.
Additionally, I don't think the dump was successful because I see a difference between my dump and the file downloaded from here.
I searched for a solution to "find" the password on the dump file, but no such luck yet!
Great deal of hair loss due to head scratching!
Can you guys help me?
