thats really interesting Peste, many thanks,
but I the laptop works, but it is damaging batteries, so that they refuse to charge, buy a new one, and it soon happens again, apparently the solution is to upgrade the bios.
but the bios is no longer available from Acer,

the Bios ZHG listed above, would probably work, but is just the .bin binary file.

there must be a way to install the binary file via software?
            the company is INSYDE.

laptop is an Acer Aspire One series 725 -C7Xbb
            model: ZHG

            Many thanks guys,
such a fast response also Peste.

Here`s the bios update exe. Extract from the zip folder and run it on the laptop or extract and use the recovery method

              Recovery procedure: https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thre...e-One-725-0825

Run the exe on another PC, find the bios in one of the newly created Temp folders, rename it to ZHGBIOS.fd

              1. Copy the BIOS file to an empty and with FAT16/32 formatted usb stick.
              2. Unplug the AC adapter.
              3. Remove the battery of the notebook (skip this step in case you can't remove the battery).
              4. Plug in the USB flash disk.
              5. Press and hold < Fn > and < Esc >, and then plug in the AC adapter while still holding < Fn > and < Esc >.
              6. Press the Power button. You can now stop holding < Fn > and < Esc >.
              7. The BIOS flash should now begin, the fans will spin up and the power led will light up. It will take a while and the notebook will shut down after the flashing process is finished.

                Thankyou SMDFlea!!!

Ive been trying to get that file for 3 years!!!
                so many hours!

Ive managed to update the firmware now!
                Happy dayz!!!

I had to change the configuration file that saves in the temp folder, set battery option to 0. other wise it wouldnt flash the BIOS without a battery.

but all done now and working, you guys are brilliant, ACER should make sure legacy software/ drivers/ firmware are available permanently me thinks...

I can buy a new battery now!

can I ask where did you manage to find the BIOS update?!

                and thanks again!

                  LAPTOP BATTERY REBUILT

Thanks again folks, Ive managed to actually repair the battery in question, removing each cell, recharging, and then refitting, rebuilding from the GND side first and then each cell up to the last cell at positive. The order of rebuilding seems to be very important.
Recharging was done under supervision, slowly recharge at around 0.200amps. (200milliamps), and for an hour or so, until you have enough charge to get the battery handshaking.
Cells are actually in pairs. there are 3 pairs.

It appears that if the battery icon doesn't have a red cross through it, then the laptop batteries internal circuitry hasn't locked it out, for safety reasons, and so cells can be removed, recharged, reinstalled in the correct sequence, and then you may be good to go!

the cells for the battery were also in excellent condition, so shame to waste.

Many thanks again, especially to SMDFlea...

Acer Aspire 5920G - Requesting Modded BIOS (9600M GT) from .WPH for CH341A Flasher
                    by EbrahimSiami
                    Hello everyone,
I need help with my Acer Aspire 5920G laptop. Its original GeForce 8600M GT graphics card failed, so I replaced it with an Nvidia GeForce 9600M GT MXM card.

**Problem:** The laptop powers on, but there is no display (black screen) on either the internal LCD or external monitor. This indicates a BIOS compatibility issue with the new graphics card.

**What I have tried so far:**
                    1. I have my **original stock BIOS dump (1MB .BIN file)** from my laptop, which works and allows the laptop to power on normally (but no display with 9600M...
