need the correct bios for:

type 20A7-005RGE S/N R9-00BPH6 14/01

tried it with X1 Carbon 2nd Gen Laptop(Thinkpad) - Type 20A7. rar from hoaca388.

Does not help unfortunately.

Only later I noticed that my chip is 16 MB.

You are missing the original bios file.
X1 Carbon 2nd Gen Laptop (ThinkPad) - Type 20A7 is your model, with 8MB bios.
