UEFI Tool - reconstructed body size is smaller than original

    Hi,

I have a BIOS dump from my Lenovo T470p. I can open it with UEFI Tool just fine. The dump size is 16384KB which is the expected value.

With the UEFI tool I extracted the BIOS region 'as is'. The extracted BIOS region file size is 9216KB.

I donwloaded the original BIOS update from Lenovo, from here: https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/p...loads/ds120707

I extracted this BIOS download from Lenovo and the file size of the FL1 is 9197KB. I tried to replace the BIOS region in my BIN with this FL1 file but it is failing with the following error message:

"reconstructIntelImage: reconstructed body size FFB260h (16757344) is smaller then original 1000000h (16777216)"

I guess the issue here is my BIOS region size is 9216KB and I am trying to replace it with a smaller region, 9197KB.

This is the first time when I try to do this. Any help welcome. How can I replace my BIOS region in the right way?

    Thank you!

p.s.: I hope that this the right place to post my question, if not, apologize.

Bosch 12V and 18V chargers modification
        by Petr0x
Hi, I would like to share with you small modification to your Bosch tool 12V and 18V chargers.

You can use it for almost all Bosch chargers what I have seen, for example part numbers GAL 18V-20, GAL 18V-40, GAL 1880, GAL 18V-160, AL 1820, AL1115CV, AL1130CV.

Bosch (today also other brands using the same system like Wurth, Fein) does not care if you destroy your batteries, because they can sell you new ones. So the marketing is telling you only about speed of the charging, so you will not wait for your batteries to charge too long. Me as a customer want the tools and batteries...

Is unlocking UEFI worth the hassle? (Surface Pro 4)
        by CronaxFD
        Hey guys,

Bought myself Surface Pro 4 tablet today on a local craigslist-type website.
I've seen that UEFI was password protected and of course the seller forgot the password, but decided to buy it anyway.
Really needed such a tablet to use with RomRaider to do some logging/tuning on my car.
It has secure boot turned off and boots from USB, so I've formatted SSD and have done clean win10 install.

Works fine, but wanted to ask, are there any real security risks associated with UEFI settings on Surface (remote access etc.)?

        From what I've...
