i hope this is the right place to ask. I have an Ideapad 520-14IKB (81BL) and it is not booting after BIOS update. Can I use the bios file from post #1 to flash the bios chip and what should I do with the ec.bin file? I have bought ch341a programmer and have created a dump file with NeoProgrammer of the faulty bios. BIOS Chip is W25Q64JV.

yes, you can use the bios from post#1.. with the EC bios you do nothing... it only writes the main bios.. but remove the bios chip from the motherboard before writing... you don't use the clip gives errors... if you don't have adapror for bios chips stick the chip on the programmer..

thank you, it worked. But I did use a clip, so didn't have to solder the bios chip from the motherboard.

The laptop had shorted KBC, after replacing and starting the laptop the DMI information disappeared, and the keyboard didn't work either. There were no visible soldering marks on the BIOS chip (it seems that no one had modified the contents before). I am attaching a dump with the laptop working correctly, but no DMI, and the original, I would like to supplement it with correct data.

post merged..next time look for a thread with the name and model, motherboard model of the laptop, and post there, if you can't find it, then make a new thread..
