Hello,
I am experiencing the following issue with my laptop. I have an Acer Aspire A717-71G with a motherboard model C5MMH/C7MMH LA-E911P Rev. 1A. Unfortunately, the original board stopped working, so I purchased a replacement. The new board is the same model but a different revision (Rev. 1B). From what I understand, this should not cause compatibility problems.
However, the replacement board came with a BIOS version intended for the Acer Nitro 5 AN515-51, which causes the keyboard to function incorrectly. I attempted to reflash the BIOS chip using a CH341A programmer and a BIOS dump for the Aspire A717-71G, but the system still identifies the BIOS as Nitro 5 AN515-51.
I have read that the EC firmware also needs to be reflashed, but unfortunately, I discovered that the EC firmware is stored in an ENE controller. I do not have a programmer that supports this type of chip.
Could you advise me on how to properly replace the BIOS on the motherboard or how to update the EC firmware so that the board functions correctly with the Aspire A717-71G?
Thank you in advance.
