EC firmware for ENE Kb9028q c for the msi gf63 thin 10sc-838

Recently I had gone to get my laptop serviced however the repair shop bricked my system and now has told me that the ec Kb9028q-c was not working properly, they plan on replacing it but they don't have the program that needs to be flashed onto the new chip. It would be greatly appreciated if someone could share this file with me, I've mentioned other details that I found important below:

    - ps the laptop was not turning on after servicing, no light for power and display wasn't on either. (I don't use this site so I apologise for breaking etiquette)

    - laptop model: MSI GF63 Thin 10sc-838
    - specs: i5-10500H 1650 max q
    - ram was upgraded to 16gb but it worked fine for a few months before this incident
    - only went for servicing due to overheating no other issues
    - the repair shop isn't cooperative so I would be limited with the info I can provide

    Thanks in advance

MSI Provides the EC firmware on their website. Your repair shop should be capable of finding this and flashing it, otherwise you might want to find a different one.

Hey thanks for replying, the repair shop said that since the laptop doesn't turn on they can't flash the ec firmware to it... I don't really do computer repair but this sounds like bs, is he right?

Upon further investigation the ec firmware file instructs running a .bat file so his logic seems to track

Yeah this repair shop is not qualified to do this repair. They need to take a new chip and use a programmer to flash it before installing it on the board after removing the failed chip. This is not a trivial repair and you should take it a good technician who knows what they're doing. That shop clearly doesn't know what they're getting into.

But the files provided are only for the bios not the ec ene Kb9028q c I think they don't have the specific files needed for this chip and my board

The link Astray gave goes straight to the EC download page. If you can`t find the link on that page here it is -> https://download.msi.com/archive/frm...R5EMS1.102.zip .Extract from the zip folder. The EC is named 16R5EMS1.102 ,it can be renamed to 16R5EMS1.bin .If the repair shop doesn`t have a programmer go somewhere that does.
