Hi. My laptop stopped booting after Windows Update tried to upgrade the bios to version 1.32.0.
The regular Dell bios recovery doesn't work (both autorecovery and the "hold ctrl+esc while inserting the power" methods), it just crashes and reboots if I use newer versions of the bios and downgrade to older versions isn't allowed.
If someone can help me correcting the bios I would be very thankful.

Have attached a bios dump with this post.

post moved..next time look for a thread with the name and model, motherboard model of the laptop, and post there, if you can't find it, then make a new thread.

          post S/T, motherboard model, etc.

post the contents of the bios chip even if it is corrupted..

Hi. How to create dump file without disassembling laptop and desoldering BIOS chip? I preffer a free software
And laptop itself works fine. It is non-touch version. I swapped display to touch version but non of my OSes detects the touch capability of new screen. Everything is connected correctly, that is why assumed I need a new BIOS.

I was referred to this thread by rex98. I have a Precision 7540 with the 8FC8 nonsense. His tool wasn't able to work with the dump...

                Model: Dell Precision 7540
                Reg Model: P74F
                Service Tag: HL7SYY2

Thanks to all for any help. I am feeling really terrible about being unable to see it all through to the end...

Because your file is not ok.

Thread merged. We can only help you if you post your bios backups, for that you will need an SPI bios programmer.
