    EV-GO 's journey of unlocking the P53

    Good day, everybody!

Here I would like to log my progress of modifying and unlocking my P53.

I bought the P53 as a replacement for my slowly dying W520, and it needs to at least be able to do the same stuff.

    ( as I posted before here: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/welcom...98#post3305798)

    It is a P53 20QN-000SGE.

I already upgraded the P53 with 128 GB RAM, 2x 2TB NVMe and the US/RU - keyboard, since it was shipped with a QWERTZ. I am Russian and I have to type NL/DE/EN/RUS on daily basis, so that keyboard was a must have.
(P/N 01YP702 or 01YP622, seems to be the same part. Of course with backlight )

(For such stuff, google for <<model>> maintenance manual, and you will find it. https://download.lenovo.com/pccbbs/m...p53_hmm_en.pdf , for example )

For my work / hobby, I need the laptop to have WWAN. I arranged that with the W520, and it works like a charm.

For the P53, I could obtain the 5G Lenovo card for a fair price. 4XC1D11452 . I also ordered the antenna set and the SIM-tray from eBay.

    (P/N 02DM541 , 02DM493)

... And now, I think, I need to modify the BIOS...

    - disable whitelist for hardware, or at least enable that 4XC1D11452 card.
    - enable Advanced Menu, just in case, you never know.
    - disable Intel ME, since I read and hear al these interesting things about that. I like interesting things, but not such interesting

I would like to make this topic kind of a journal that describes reaching the final target: well working P53 20QN.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, since the dying-rate of the W520 seems to increase, and I need to work..

Dell Latitude 7290 enable touchscreen entry in BIOS?
      by Talonts
For those that have worked through the 7290 BIOS in the past, do you happen to know if there is a switch in it to enable a touchscreen entry in the BIOS setup?

The 7290, 7390, and 7490 all use the same BIOS, and the 7390 has an FHD touchscreen as one of its' options. It turns out it can be installed in a 7290 BUT since the BIOS doesn't have the entry to turn it on, it just becomes an FHD upgrade to the 7290.

I was hoping if any of you that had worked on the BIOS in the past would know if either the touchscreen settings could be turned on in the 7290, or the BIOS could...
