Good day.

I've been really struggling to revive this laptop after a BIOS update by Windows Update. Tried the HP recovery stick route but just says BIOS file are unavailable of corrupted. My son is leaving for school and he needs it.

The board is 18740-1, 44.0GA03.0011.

I believe the BIOS should be 085DE but for the life of me cannot get it to work. Will really appreciate any help that's on offer. Thank you.

Don't have a backup of the BIOS unfortunately. ProdID 7JW67EA#ACQ

Try harder
It's a virgin bios for your model, should work for sure. But not by "HP recovery stick route", you'll need to program the chip with the programmer. Don't forget to make a backup of the original bios first (verified one).
If that doesn't ring bell, seek for a help at the local repair shop, before making things worse.

Thanks. Don't have a programmer but will find out who has one locally. Probably won't be able to do it with an Andruino.
