MSI GS75 no sound and usb issue

    Hi,

I have a MSI GS75 Stealth (9SD-819BE) here, motherboard model 17G11 (As far as I can tell this is the motherboard model number) that has no sound trough either it's speakers, or trough the 3.5mm jack connector. And 2 out of the 3 USB 3.0 ports don't work. At first one stopped working, a couple weeks later the second port.

Are there schematics available for this device? Or any other advice is always welcome, I have very little experience with devices other than MacBook's.

    Thanx in advance!

Regarding the USB-Ports it could be a dying PCH in worst case. Basic check would be a) to check whether you have 5V at the ports present and b) to check the Data lines in diode mode to GND. They must not show a low reading nor a big difference between the differential pairs.

Sorry for the very late response!

I don't get 5V on any of the nonworking ports, the diode mode readings seem to be fine (0.45 - 0.75 range).

I'll add 2 pictures of the motherboard, could you point out where the PCH is, and/or if there's any way to test it? Thank you very much for the help so far!

        Anthem MRX500 - no sound

        Dear Electronics Experts:

I have the following problem I am trying to troubleshoot. Unfortunately, I have contacted Anthem themselves and even a local distributer but I am not having much luck. Also, I have scoured the internet and unable to obtain a service manual. The Anthem service rep has also replied that he is unable to provide me with any service documentation. I have performed numerous searches on the internet and cross-referenced a few other AV receiver makers (Denon, Marantz, Onkyo) and found certain similarities to block diagram...

what i went through dealing with my mobo with dead onboard sound!
        by ChaosLegionnaire
so i took out one of my spare gigabyte ep35-ds3r mobos from storage for use to do some cpu, ram and video card testing of stuff i bought from ebay and got for free from momaka. he bought 50 e8400 cpus for cheap from ebay some years ago and i decided to help him relieve him of some of his supply since he had waaaay too many!! what did we say about hoarding too much stuff and depriving others of them?! *cough* socialism *cough* lol!

i had to blow some dust off the board and heatsinks with the datavac as i didnt clean it up before putting it in storage. after finishing...

Kenwood SW-505D no sound issue and pops from time to time when it works
        by ex250
        Hello mates,

I bought this subwoofer a few days ago used and blind and it works erratically, as far as I could see, it has been tampered with, the speaker is not the original one and of 8 Ohm when it should be of 4, and there are some welds like reworked by the boards.

It doesn't have much power (expected more from it) and it distorts if you increase the volume over the middle, maybe it's because of the high impedance of the speaker. The problem is that it has sound when it wants, the led panels all work correctly, you can hear the power relay on power on, but right now...

MacBook Air A2337 820-02016-07 No sound ISSUE
        by saisoni20
        Hi,
I have A2337 MacBook Air no sound issue.
I have replaced new Audio Board but still same issue. I went through repair wiki and checked critical voltages.
In terms of voltages, I have following voltages,

        1 PP1V25_AWAKE_IO - 1.2V
        2 PP1V25_AWAKE_IO - 1.8V
        3 SPKRAMP_A_OUTP_R - 0V
        4 SPKRAMP_A_OUTN_R - 0V

Am I missing any other critical voltages?

        Thanks

Sony SLV-E780 Power Supply Issue – Clicking Sound, Need Help Identifying Faulty Component
        by Akuanka
        Hi everyone,

I'm troubleshooting a power supply issue with a Sony SLV-E780 VCR. The device clicks repeatedly but doesn't power up completely. I've already replaced five capacitors, but the problem persists.

Here's a video link https://photos.app.goo.gl/3Xki6yvCLn67gLX78 showcasing the sound. Based on your experience, could this be due to a transformer, diode, or another component? Any guidance on what to test or replace next would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your help!
