Acer Extensa 2508: battery not charging

    Hello!
Just arrived an Acer Extensa 2508 (boardview attached, same as ES1-512) that detect battery but won't charge it, both original and a replacement.

Original battery: LED stay solid orange.
    Replacement battery: LED blinking orange.

    BTY1 readings:
    only AC | AC+original | AC+replacement
    1 BT+ 2.70 | 12.50 | 1.56
    2 BT+ 15.12 | 12.50 | 1.56
    3 BAT_G 0.00
    4 BAT_IN#_1 3.23 | 0.26 | 0.26
    5 BATA_SCL_1 3.26| 3.24 | 1.71
    6 BATA_SDA_1 3.26 | 3.24 | 1.71
    7 GND 0.00
    8 GND 0.00

    Bad replacement ?
    Something bad in PU4403 ?

We love units that do not charge - really.

Yes, the last pair of readings seem to tank the I2C lines once you install the new battery. It is strange.

Does the replacement battery get detected by the logic board ?

Suggest to remain with the original battery since the I2C voltage swing was higher and continue to debug.

Any schematic for this unit ?

If not, locate the charger IC and read off the markings from the topside.

Yes (see attached screenshot) but I've noticed sometimes not.
When get detected, LED is solid orange and I can hear a (very weak) sort of "clack" every 2-3 seconds for about 5 minutes: in this period BT+ read 12.6-12.8V.
After that, the weak sound disappear and BT+ falls to 1.56V

      I've attached the schematic.

Update: look like that the new battery is faulty because started to swell...
I'll order a new one and report back

Note: I've put back the original battery and now is charging a little

Good. The fault may just be a defective battery. See the comments in the logiwiki by @piernov. Most are garbage. Select a vendor where you can return them if there is fault found. Amazon offers buyers too many rights but is a good and quick way to test the batteries.

We like Mobile Sentrix for the batteries and most other parts but they may or may not service your region. The buyer can return any product upon request. They only work with businesses.

The battery bulge is a defect or too much viagra. It can lead to expanding the casing. Have seen many where the phone and laptop grew to split apart. This is a fire hazard.

Dell E6400 PT434 type Battery Charging Stuck at 1%. Battery Pinouts?
            by Bowline
My question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?

Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?

My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.
The LED bar graph charge indicator on the battery shows one LED lighted when the info button is pressed.
I have tried multiple different Dell power adapters. My Dell...
