    Asus x542UN

    Hello,

I would like help in that I took apart an Asus x542UN laptop and after putting it back together, if I unplug the charger it turns off. I think the battery is good. I checked with NLBA. I tried to look for a switch, as for example several acers have it when disassembled, it breaks the battery circuit. I couldn't find a schematic or boardview for this model. I found on the boardview of a similar motherboard (x542uq) H6001 parts with bat_en. But I couldn't find anything similar on x542un.

See attached. Taken from x542 UN R2.1 PCB boardview file.

Schematic grabs are from x542UN R2.0 schematic file.

Thanks. But it's not quite the same. Or is it just a hole? I do not understand.

Look at the other side of the hole, its in two halves, when the screw is tightened down it should be touching across both halves with a metal shield or foil

If you've looked closely at the motherboard, then you can understand what he's saying: you have to screw in the screw bit H6001 to get the battery to activate the output, and the screw bit for H6001 is marked on the motherboard, on the side of the RAM, so it's easy to find.
If the battery is OK and you still can't get the battery to output, then it's time to check elsewhere.
