A friend gave me a tablet that got wet and doesn´t charge anymore. First thing I did is plug it into a charger and check if it draws anything. It drew around 0.70 mAh but it was stuck on a boot loop and not showing percentage.
So I opened it, disconnected the battery and plugged it again it did the same, I inspected the internals, for being wet everything looked in very good condition, no dry water marks but all the water stickers indeed were red.
I checked the battery connector and it was corroded, the only visibly affected part.

I cleaned them with some isopropyl and tried to charge the tablet again. Now it shows the percentage and after some time it got to 30% but turning it on drops it instantly to 0%.
From my experience with e-bike cells, that happens when you have a shorted cell.
Do you guys think buying a new battery could be the solution?
This connector makes it hard to probe the battery with the multimeter, or connect it to my battery balancer
