    Dell Latitude 3500 NO BOOT

This is the second Dell Latitude which does not boot. Also corrosion on the exact same spot as the last one.

I have tried measuring the exact problem but I can't figure it out. There is no charging light and no 3.3V on the BIOS chip.

It must be an issue with the Latitude 3500 and I believe that more of these will come in the future.

Can someone help me fix this problem?

Hi. For starters, need to use alcohol and a stiff brush to scrape away of the corrosion / cream of wheat or whatever is oozing around this part of the logic board.

Then share pix again of the cleaned up area. You may need to reflow the square black IC with flux and hot air tools to guarantee proper solder joints on the SMD device.

Remove all power before reflowing / cleaning, of course.

Thank you for the information. I cleaned the area and reflowed the chip firmly on his place.
There were some capacitors that came loose when I was cleaning it and I managed to put them back on apart from 2 small caps, circled on the image.
Unfortunately the mobo is still dead.

Maybe a dumb question but are the capacitors that must be in place inside that circle are necassary for the motherboard to show any life like a light or something?
