I am trying to fix a "LENOVO THINKPAD X1 YOGA TYPE 20FQ / 20FR" laptop.
It's a 1st gen X1 Yoga and it has a couple of strange issues. I think they are related to either:
1) damaged ME region in the firmware/BIOS.
2) The version of the ME firmware is too old.
The two issues I am having are:
1) The laptop will shutdown, but fails to power off the laptop. If the laptop is forced powered off, then it can ONLY turned on again if:
a) The charger is disconnected.
b) The reset button is pressed.
c) The power button is pressed.
d) The charger is re-connected.
These procedures must be done in the above order.
2) If boot is interrupted and the boot menu key is pressed, the time from pressing the enter key (for the selected item) to showing the boot loader is approx 90 seconds.
Can anyone help?
I am about the update the ME firmware in Ubuntu 20.04.1, so I will report what happens.
