    Dell Inspiron 3583 LA-G712P Dead after inserting HDMI

    Evening everyone,
    I am very much new to component-level repair and I am seeking a little help. The above laptop came into me for repair and I cannot find a schematic or board view anywhere for it. The customer said it was all powered up and working fine and he plugged in the HDMI and everything just shut off, never to start again.
    When plugged into the charger, it is drawing .06 amps but not even trying to power on. Can anyone give me any pointers?

      Have you looked inside the HDMI connector for damgad/bent/shorting pins .

          Hi SMDFlea, thanks for the reply, yes i checked the HDMI socket on the laptop and it is all in good condition, no snapped or bent pins
