Hiya, first time diagnosing a fault in a laptop.... During the lockdown I had an incident with my Asus k55a ... I mistakenly tried to record audio from a Tandberg 4000x reel to reel to the Mic socket.. Of course it was way too loud and straight after i noticed, the laptops audio had died.....no sound in or out....
I thought I might have a go at fixing it but lack of any useful information and no answer from Asus or Realtek hasn't helped.
So far I've replaced the input output PCB and even the Realtek RTL277 codec chip with no success.
Can you guys give me any help or hints where to go next? The drivers are installed and working, Windows 8.1's sound bars and systems are working fine.
A USB sound device works but is quite limited and wont allow VST's and other features I need to function.
Regards Paul
