    Dell Latitude 5590 no power

    I have a Dell Latitude 5590 (DDM80 LA-F411P board, Intel i5-8350U, 8GB 2400MHz DDR4) which is suddenly completely dead.

    What happened?
I was working in MS Word. Suddenly the machine/screen froze. After a few seconds the screen went off and the laptop turned immediately off.
There was a little smell (burning plastic). I unplugged the AC-adapter.

I opened up the laptop. The CPU was very hot.
Some plastic PCB-covering looked a bit melted. Exactly above PU613 (FDMF3035).
    (see attached pictures)

When AC-adapter is connected, the CPU will get hot.
When power button is pressed, nothing happens.
Connecting / disconnecting the battery does not change anything.
None of the LEDs will light up.

The overview gives the voltage readings of all big inductors.

Any idea about the cause of my issue or way to perform some more diagnosis?

My goal: learn something new about troubleshooting these kind of problems.
If it can't be fixed; no problem. If it can be fixed; great!

That's correct. One year warranty, it is about 3 years old now.

In EU warranty should be at least 2 years. Business line Dell are often bought with 3 and sometimes even 5 years warranty so it's always worth checking. Especially in a situation where most likely the CPU is dead…

This model had one year warranty.
It is 3 years old, so also 2 years conform EU regulations wouldn't help.
