    Acer Aspire 8930g power problems

    Hi there,

i i've seen a lot of topics about this acer and especially the nec tokin capacitor

    but this laptop has 2 problems, when i first got it;
it turned it on and after 7 seconds the screen is showing all RGB colors
    full screen green
    full screen red
    full screen blue
then gray all different sorts and so on

i replaced the main bios & vga bios , but still the same screen
later on i noticed a high humming from the nvidea card, on the bottom side the caps next to the memory modules are short
but later after pressing those caps with the multimeter the short was suddenly gone. And the humming was over and voltages seem to be normal on the videocard
but now the screen is not showing anything, stays black

i checked the nec tokin capacitor and it was shorted like 0.7 ohms even without cpu
removed the nec tokin and now it is ~45 ohms with cpu
i've placed a temporary ceramic capasitor instead of the nec

when i power it on; the nvidea card is getting a little bit warm without heat sink
but the cpu is not even getting warm and i measure 0 volts on the nec
    all other voltages are there
1.8v on the video print and 0.9 volt on the gpu
    1.05 volt chipset
    1.08 cpu
    1.5v memory
5 volt hdd 3.3 volt also
what voltage need to be on the nec ?
    why those colors ?

What capacitors did you use to replace the NEC Tokin?

      Ah its working now :-)
      I got some 4x 330uf from a scrap mobo
I think there was some pieces from the nec capacitor left and I removed it, needed to heat it up good
But now a next problem; the backlight goes off after ~2 minutes working
