one question, is it possible to adapt a display that has a 40 pin connector instead of one with 30 pin?

I have a sharp microwave front panel connectors which link to the motherboard via ffc strips into push in connectors, see images, the connector strips are worn I have cut them back but they still don’t make a good connection any ideas how I can overcome this would be appreciated. All switches on panel which are touch type work fine, have thought about conductive pen or paint anyhelp appreciated.... -
