    HP Omen DAG35AMB8E0 REV E

    Hi friends.
I got a exeptional tricky HP Omen that i need som advices on.
As its my brothers i dont want to give up on it yet.

When i got it it was stone dead.
No charge lite or anything with confirmed good charger.

Long story short i had no voltage on main power rail at all.
    Replacing PQ1001, PQ1006, PQ1007 fixed battery charging.

At this time i thought i was done, but when i tried power button something really bad happend.

It went back to shorted main power rail and i found two more faults.
MOS FET PQ4004 for +VCC_CORE shorted.

I have not replaced this yet as i got no spares.

But now comes the really bad part of this story.

When i desoldered PQ4004 the short wentaway, but that caused PU9003 to get power.

It almost made me sick to find out that by som reason PU9003 was faulty in a really bad way. It did not short to ground but instead it just let the main power rail throught it (19.5V) This chip is responsible for DDR3 Video RAM power wich should be att 1.35V (+1.35V_GFX).

Well after removing the faulty PU9003 it was no supprise that +1.35V_GFX was shorted to GND. I pushed some amps (at 1.35V) throught +1.35V_GFX line and two of the four DDR3 chips started to heat up.

At this point i saw no reason to NOT remove those two chips. Its only a few caps on this powerline except the DDR3 RAM.

Removing the two DDR3 chips made the short to go away.

Now comes my question that i need advice on:
1.) Do you think its time to give this laptop up. 19.5V on Video RAM almost certain kill other things ?

2.) As i missing a MOS FET for +VCC_CORE, PU9003 and at leat two DDR3 chips. Is it smart to buy a brooken doner board ? (Price for loose components is only 25$ less).

I feel pretty confident in flowing the DDR's iv done DDRS before and its a pretty good spot on board.

Chances are CPU and GPU are damaged too.
