I've got a Lenovo Ideapad 310-15ISK notebook with a rather strange issue. Whenever the power adapter is plugged in, image goes off. After extensive testing, here is what I have found:
- It is not software related as it happens outside OS, like in BIOS boot menu. Also the behaviour is different inside and outside OS. If I plug the charger outside the OS, it turns image off, and the unplugging I get image again. Inside the OS (Windows 10), it goes to sleep mode, so I need to press power button to get it off sleep mode inside Windows 10
- This model has both Intel graphics and nVIDIA. I can set the default graphics in BIOS, but this problem occurs regardless of what I chose.
- BIOS has been updated, did not solve the issue.
- The computer does not start with charger plugged in, only with battery
- With another charger, same issue
- I have disconnected the internal battery, and using only with charger works fine,
- Strangely after disconnecting the battery and connecting it again, the notebook seems to work fine again, with the charger plugged there is image, but after a few minutes screen off, and back to the same.
- Battery charges completely even with the screen off, and has an excellent usage time.
I was wondering if the problem maybe related to the Super IO chip.
- CMOS reset did nothing to help
