Toshiba Satellite c660 (only works on battery)

    Hi guys,

I have a Toshiba Satellite C660 that only works on battery.
Power adapter is good, no 3.3v at power button.
Motherboard is a PWWAA LA-6841P.. (schematic attached below) https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...rdview-request

    Can someone help please?

Check DCin fuse (PF1), PL1, check voltage on VIN, check DCin MOSFETs (PQ203 & PQ204), check current sense resistor PR215, check voltage on B+.
If voltage is present on VIN and not on B+, and PQ203, PQ204, PR215 are good, check voltage on P2 and on the gate of PQ204. The voltage on the gate must be lower by at least 6V to the voltage on P2.
    If it's not, measure voltage on pins 1, 2, 8, 19, 20, 23, 24 of PU200
    Btw G5209S31U is pin-compatible with ISL6251A

      Thank you for your help..
Here are my readings (without battery plugged in, only ac adapter..)

      PF1 - 19.37v
      PL1 - 19.37v
      VIN - 19.38v

      PQ203
      pin1 to 7 - 19.38v
      pin 8 - 19.34v

      PQ204
      pin1 to 4 - 19.38v
      pin5 to 8 - 0.980v

      PR215 - 0.980v

      B+ - 0.980v

      P2 - 19.38v

      PQ204 gate - 19.34v

      PU200
      pin 1 - 5.065v
      pin 2 - 1.393v
      pin 8 - 2.393v
      pin 19 - 0.978v
      pin 20 - 0.978v
      pin 23 - 0v
      pin 24 - 18.98v

Already had swapped PU200 and PU500 but no joy.. Same readings

      Thank you very much

Check resistance between pin 1 and pin 4, and between pin 1 and pin 8 of PQ203.
Check resistance to ground of B+ line.

          pin1 and pin4 = 422.7 ohm

          pin1 and pin8 = 000.4 ohm

Resistance to ground from B+ = (innacurate reading) droping from 2.5 Mega ohm

Replace PQ203, it is apparently shorted.
