Lenovo Ideapad Yoga 13 won't turn on with CMOS plugged in

I've got a Ideapad Yoga 13 that I had to change the the back casing and palm rest, but since I've switch everything over to the new parts, the machine will not turn on unless the CMOS battery is disconnected.
The weird thing is that the power button doesn't work, when the PSU is plugged in, the machine automatically turns on and seems to work fine, but you can't turn off with the power button.
With the CMOS battery connected the machine fails to turn on at all.

There are signs of spillage damage, on the SSD, but it works and everything tested o.k before I started taking it apart.

Any suggestions on what I can try.

Sorry if this post doesn't make much sense, bloody hot here, brains melting.

you have to find the laptop's schematics and check voltages on the motherboard.
