Hey guys,
I'm probably in over my head here, but I'm interested in learning from this..
I was given an acer aspire 7730, which I was told had no back-light. Plugged it in, powered on and sure enough, no back-light. I could see the acer logo, so i assumed the inverter had gone. Tried today as I was going to order a new inverter, and just wanted to double check.
Plugged in the power lead, and heard a 'pop', and then a really bad burning smell. I removed the power lead, and pulled the motherboard to check what burned.
From what I can see. D17 and U13 are clearly burned, and U33 isnt looking too good. :/
Is this even worth the time?
