Hi.
I have a Dell G3 3779 (CAL53 LA-F611P), which had a short on +3VALVP and a partial short on +1.8VALWP (27ohm).
For +3VALWP I found a shorted capacitator, that I swapped with a good one. No more short there.
But for the +1.8VALWP I hope it is not PCH. So, what I did:
I removed solder blob from PJP1802 and determined, that the low 27ohm resistance is on pin 2 (+1.8V_PRIM)
I removed UG12 (AOZ1331DI dual channel load switch), and the resistance on +1.8V_PRIM increased to 167ohm.
So, next ICs on the path is EC and PCH. Could any of those be bad? How could I test it?
Thank you.
