HP Omen 15-EK Quanta DA0G3EMBCD0

Hi everyone,

i have a omen 15-ek with this motherboard DA0G3EMBCD0 (i7-10750H / GTX 1660ti)

Original fault was a no power, plugging the charger not even the charing led was coming on.

TL;DR -> Shorted KBC causing 3.3v IC to heat up. Also 5v rail got shorted and 1.2v DRAM.

3.3v -> TPS51393p
5v -> TPS51395
1.2v -> TPS51486

Ordered New IC's and Pre-programmed KBC from Ebay and now i got charging LED on when charger is plugged in.
Now when i press the power button the board powers up for 2-3 seconds (no display) and shuts itself off with power led blinking.

I took measurements from all HWPG pins and all show 0v.

Any help is appreciated

My experience with multiple power rail shorts isn't good. It's usually multiple dead pieces of silicon, most notably the PCH. Check PCH/CPU power coil resistance first, and also check the RTC power as well (as this also goes to the PCH).

Checked resistance on PCH +1.05v coil and i get 65-70 ohms

Vcore coil resistance 3-4 ohms

VCCRTC 3.3volts

i noticed that MAINON and SUSON when power button is pressed stay at 0.28v and not going high

RSMRST# changes state when power button pressed? After that, the EC is supposed to get some signals back from the PCH to proceed in the sequence.

0v when charger connected, as power button gets pressed goes high to 3.3v and goes back to 0v.

Bad bios could be the cause?
